Giving Voice to My Astonishment

Observing, Gathering, Gleaning, Sharing

“Why do you never find anything written about that idiosyncratic thought you advert to, about your fascination with something no one else understands? Because it is up to you. There is something you find interesting, for a reason hard to explain. It is hard to explain because you have never read it on any page; there you begin. You were made and set here to give voice to this, your own astonishment.” Annie Dillard

 Hello and welcome!

Like many people, I have several different areas of interests. Most nearest to my heart is nature, writing, reading, and mindfulness. How, I wondered, will I ever be able to gather all of my passions in one place? A blog, of course! The name of my blog, Giving Voice to My Astonishment, comes from one of my favorite authors, Annie DillardThe second part, Observing, Gathering, Gleaning, Sharing is what I hope to accomplish here. I’m a curious person and I love to observe the world around me, but more than that, I like to discuss my observations with others.

May I extend a warm welcome to you regardless of whether you share my love of nature, writing, reading, or mindfulness. Or, perhaps all four! I hope you will find something of interest, and please feel free to join in the conversation.
